Lesson 1
Read the directions below. This week we are going to practice jumping rope skills.
1.Review posture, swing, and jumping using a single and then a double jump (Jump K-1 #2). 2. Watch the new video (Jump K-1 #3) made by Mrs. Gonzalez. Practice single and double jumps while turning the rope backwards . Safety
Wear sneakers and comfortable clothing. Make sure that you exercise in a safe space with plenty of room to move. Follow your family home rules.
Tips to Modify the Exercises Turn the rope slower. Try jumping in a rocking pattern instead of two feet. Step over the rope instead of jumping. Use a heavier jump rope. By the end of these lessons students should be able to: Jump forward or backward consecutively using a self- turned rope. (S1.E27.1a) Participate actively in moderate aerobic activity. S3.E2 |
Lesson 2
Read the directions below. Today you will review jumping backwards and try jumping with the rope turned by someone else.
1. Review single and double jump backwards (Jump K-1 #3). Practice all previous skills. 2. Play the jump rope game "Jump the Shot" aka Helicopter. Directions for game play and safety are listed in the second video below (Jump K-1 #4). Safety
Wear sneakers and comfortable clothing. Make sure that you exercise in a safe space with plenty of room to move. Follow your family home rules. Jump the Shot - When swinging the rope make sure to keep it on the ground at all times. Let go of the rope if a foot catches to prevent falling.
